I am Balthazar Greer, an artist from, but not limited to, South London. My mother is originally Swiss Italian, so italian culture has always been a part of me, especially when having grown up surrounded by Napolitans here in London. I almost feel as though I am one of them. None the least, my art is inspired from everything I see; South London itself undoubtedly has a huge influence on me, the music and the culture which surrounds me; this connects with my interest in politics, which I study here, and which is also very clearly demonstrated through my work, something which is ever-current and focuses often on the tone of liberation. I try to make my work show emotion, particularly the final stage of uncertainty prior to freedom, but also outrage, something which I think many people my age feel and stuggle to verablise – my work tries to ask questions, not give you answers. Through this, my art is for everyone, it is human, its clear, its striking; for me, art is for all, should be accessiblee to all, and through this, it carries the strongest message – your answer to my question.
