Descrizione: There is Freedom Within is an oil painting rooted in classical realism playing with the concept of reality and shaped by a sensitivity to trace, memory, and time. Created during the beginning of motherhood, it explores the body as a site of tension and attachment, where identity stretches, dissolves, and reforms. Working from a mirror in the solitude of night, interrupted only by a baby’s cry, I confronted thresholds between strength and exhaustion, control and surrender, precision and loss. The work resists idealisation, revealing the raw contradiction between profound love and relentless fatigue.
