Elena Baud’s works redefine the still life tradition through a radical textile approach, where embroidery becomes both image and matter.

Her compositions are built from dense, highly controlled stitched areas that transition into explosive, frayed, and sculptural thread extensions, creating a striking contrast between precision and entropy. Vertical thread structures evoke woven systems or looms, while ruptured surfaces suggest erosion, transformation, or organic mutation.

Beyond their material presence, her works open a conceptual space that resonates with quantum imaginaries. Threads behave like vibrating strings, generating invisible tensions and connections, as if the surface were the visible trace of a deeper, multidimensional structure. The compositions suggest parallel layers of reality, where forms emerge, collapse, and reconfigure across unseen dimensions.

Rather than depicting objects, her works generate textile events — hybrid forms that oscillate between landscape, body, and abstract construction. The tactile dimension is central: threads spill, stretch, and detach from the surface, turning the image into a three-dimensional, dynamic field.

Her color palette — earthy reds, ochres, burnt tones, and muted metallics — reinforces a sense of material memory and slow transformation, while the interplay of structure and dispersion evokes systems in flux.
