Biografia

Viola Bąbol is an artist living in Poland.
In the years 2008-2013 she studied painting at the Institute of Fine Arts of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin.
In her paintings, she primarily uses oil paint.
The main subject matter of her paintings are surreal portraits of women, which are a metaphor for the passage of time and nostalgia.
“In my work, I strive to draw attention to the psychological and symbolic aspects of my experiences.
Metaphorical portraits filled with color and line are my subjective experience of the world.
By creating two-dimensional surfaces, built with contrasting patches of color, I demonstrate the emotional aspect.
By combining reality with fantasy, I speak of feminine strength and sensitivity to the world around me.”
