Biografia

Susanne Leibold’s engagement with large-scale imagery began early.
She worked with video from the age of 13, focusing on moving images before turning to analogue photography as a means of exploring visual perception and artistic expression.
Light, reflections, and increasingly abstract visual phenomena are central to her work. Rather than documenting reality, she develops individual interpretations based on observed situations and experiences. Her practice combines analogue and digital processes in an experimental, project-based approach. Layers of material, spatial overlays, and photographic techniques are used as formal elements in the construction of the image.
Born in Baden-Württemberg in 1971, Susanne Leibold has lived and worked in Berlin since 2005. She studied at the FAS and participated in the Free Class at the Ostkreuzschule. Her work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
