Sanchita Banerjee (b. India; lives and works in USA)
Sanchita Banerjee was born and raised in India. Her fondest memories of childhood were summers and winter holidays spent at her grandparents’ homes. For Sanchita, the creative journey began not in a studio, but amidst the lush, vibrant gardens of her grandparents’ homes. These ancestral, verdant sanctuaries filled with the scent of jasmine, the vibrant hues of roses, bougainvilleas, and the intricate patterns of monsoon-washed leaves—served as her first and most enduring inspiration. Growing up surrounded by this botanical abundance, she inculcated a sensitivity to the rhythms of the natural world.

Her artistic practice is a dialogue with nature. Her style mirrors the organic complexity she first observed in those childhood gardens. Inspired by the exquisite interplay of floral colors, the resilience of flora, and the quiet dignity of the wilderness, to her, nature is not a static subject but a living, breathing collaborator. Her work invites the viewer to pause and reconnect with the natural wonders that are often overlooked in the rush of modern life.

She views her art as a bridge between nostalgia and conservation, blending the vivid memories of her Indian heritage with a contemporary commitment to environmental stewardship. By documenting the fleeting beauty of the natural world, she seeks to evoke a sense of shared responsibility for its future.

Sanchita currently resides on the east coast of the USA where she is surrounded by the stunning landscape of the New England region. Her portfolio is a testament to a life spent observing the “small victories” of growth. Through her art, she invites us all to return to the garden, reminding us that we are not merely observers of nature, but an integral part of its intricate design.
