Every Stage is Beautiful

Created from real pressed White anemone flower grown, collected, and preserved by the artist, this work explores the beauty of transformation and the passage of time. The flowers are harvested at the height of their bloom and undergo a careful drying process that reveals new textures, transparencies, and subtle shifts in color.

Rather than preserving a flower as a symbol of what once was, the work celebrates change itself. Each stage – from seed to bloom, from drying to preservation – becomes part of a continuous cycle of renewal and creation.

By transforming fragile botanical material into a lasting artwork, Cohen invites viewers to reflect on impermanence, memory, and the quiet beauty that exists in every phase of life. Time is not presented as a force of loss, but as an essential collaborator in the creative process.
