Descrizione: Three different pairs of glasses, each carrying a different set of eyes. The
polaroid emulsion fuses photograph and object into a single photo-sculpture.
The person who once wore them is now bound forever to the lens they
looked through.
Anaïs Nin wrote: “We do not see things as they are, we see them as we
are.” The gaze is never neutral. It is a filter, a projection, a self looking
outward and calling it observation.
The glasses ask a simple question: whose eyes are we borrowing when we
believe we see clearly? Perception is never raw. It is shaped by memory, by
closeness, by everything we carry into the moment of looking.
To wear the glasses is to notice the layer between us and the world, and to
recognize it as our own.
Displayed on a pedestal, the object sits between a wearable thing and a
relic. It was not made to be worn, but to be looked at, and looked through.
