Descrizione: This drawing talks about percieving the world and the illusion of objectivity that always accompanies the act of ‘seeing’. How do we form our judgement on what we see? The subconscious always plays a major role in what we see and how we percieve the world around us. In looking at someone else’s face, this subconscious often even plays double. So you could say with almost certainty that looking at someone is looking into a mirror, in which you percieve elements of yourself. Elements of ourself, as we are – as human beings – composed of our past, our parents, our experiences and the way we have processed our experiences, aswell as fragments of collective history from around the world.
Text below the drawing: “A part of me looks like Lenin. As far as having a strong vision, that is ok with me, but it is also about how you cope with this vision. Having no self-doubt or connection with any kind of human condition, it’s a dangerous thing. What do you recognise in a man’s or a woman’s face?”
