Born in 1970 in East Germany I now live and work in Strasbourg/ France. I first followed a scientific career, from 2010, I attended master classes in contemporary textile art at “Baumwollspinnerei” Leipzig. After, I took courses with contemporary textile artists from Germany and UK. Since then I create works in fibre and mixed media in my studio and take part in international exhibitions.

My material is used textiles, which I carefully take apart. This creates shapes that still bear traces of their previous use. I combine these different surfaces with their existing lines and patterns to create collages or sculptures, and then embroider and sew on them. This way, I weave my stories into fabrics and motifs, linking them to the past and continuing to tell them in the present.

My work revolves around everyday events, memories and the state of our world, especially nature.
