Jana Junker is a contemporary jewellery designer whose research-driven practice moves between material experimentation, the body, and conceptual investigation. Her work explores states of tension, transformation, vulnerability, and connection, often using physical processes to approach questions that extend beyond the immediately visible or rational.Research is central to her practice: a way of questioning established perspectives and deliberately looking beyond the limits of one’s own knowledge and perception. Drawing from philosophy, psychology, ritual, symbolism, and material culture, she understands making as a form of inquiry – a process through which matter and the body can become vessels for exploring the unknown, the subconscious, and the intangible. She is recently nominated for the German Design Award Newcomer 2027.
