Biografia

The roots of the Czech-Danish photographer, born in Bavaria South Germany in 1978, lie in dance and in a fascination with the immediate expression of the body. His mother’s dance school shaped him from an early age, forming his way of seeing the body in space beyond language. This influence flows into his photography today, which captures the immediate poetry and enigmatic quality of the speaking body in nude photography.

Inspired by his father, a draughtsman and painter who was always on the move with a camera, and by the Praktica camera equipment inherited from his older sister, he began working with analogue photography at an early age. In the 1990s, he studied performing arts, with a particular focus on physical theatre, and later lyrical writing. For Christensen, art is a vehicle for self-knowledge and for condensing realities.
