Ana Alves was born in Coimbra in 1985 and now lives on Faial Island, in the Azores. A pulmonologist by profession, she has always nurtured a deep connection to drawing as a way of seeing and engaging with the world.

Through her digital illustration project, Doze Lápis, she captures everyday moments in minimalist, fleeting lines. Her work often carries a second, hidden meaning—subtle details that reveal themselves only to the most attentive eyes.
