Biografia
Katja Richter (born 1968) is a German photographer whose artistic practice explores the intersection of landscape, architecture, and socio-political transformation.
After working in medical and documentary photography from 2004 to 2013, she shifted her focus entirely to artistic photography.
Her work engages with contemporary issues such as energy transition, climate change, and structural transformation, translating these complex themes into abstract visual languages.
Using the technique of multiple exposure, Richter creates her images directly in-camera, deliberately rejecting digital compositing processes.
This approach results in photographs that oscillate between clarity and dissolution, documentation and abstraction.
Richter’s works have been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Germany and internationally, including exhibitions in Italy, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.
