Biografia

Margarida Carvalho is a Portuguese self-taught artist whose practice has developed independently, alongside her professional and personal life, driven by a longstanding passion for fashion and illustration. Working exclusively by hand and across a range of traditional art mediums, coloured pencils have always been a particular favourite. She signs her work as Margot.

From 2020 – 2024:

She has taken part in several editions of the FIDA Awards – hosted by FIDA Worldwide – a fashion drawing and illustration competition that is attended by many international artists and illustrators. Her work has reached both the semi-finals and finals and for that has had her work published in FIDA’s annual publication: “Fible II” (2022) and “Fible V” (2025).

September 2024:

Following an invitation from VOGUE Runway, through FIDA, Margarida has created a series of fashion illustrations inspired by twelve brands that presented their Spring/Summer collections during New York Fashion Week, such as Willy Chavarria; Alaïa; Palomo Spain; Khaite; Off-White; Tommy Hilfiger; Diotima; Tory Burch; Michael Kors; Luar; Ronald van der Kemp and Melitta Baumeister.
Her work was subsequently featured on VOGUE Runway’s Instagram account during that same week.

September 2025:

Margarida presented her first solo exhibition called “10 Years of Drawing Fashion” in her hometown. The exhibition brought together a decade of work created from a young age, offering an insight into both the development of her artistic practice and the creative and working processes behind it. The project was curated by “Rabiscadores Colectivo” and developed in collaboration with a group of creative collaborators.
