Biografia
Roee Morag is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, experimental photography, video, and sound. His practice examines how visual memory can be altered, fragmented, and reimagined. Across his work, the canvas, photographic frame, and video timeline function as shared temporal spaces where images unfold through rhythm and gesture. This approach is exemplified in series such as Painted Memories (2025), which projects archival family film onto abstract surfaces to displace and reconfigure personal imagery. His experimental photographic work incorporates film, digital cameras, scanners, and post-processing techniques to fragment and reconstruct visual narratives through layered image-making processes. Recent work developed during a residency in Rome includes the stop-motion animation All Beware the Beast (2026), which explores the friction between abstraction and figuration through the instability of contemporary imagery. Morag has been featured in Spectaculum Magazine and has exhibited in group shows in Tel Aviv, Budapest, and South Korea. He is currently based between Tel Aviv and Rome.
