Rosendo Sánchez. Photographer. Born in Albacete, Spain. Currently resides in Granada.
With a university degree in law, my photographic education began with courses taught by the University of Granada and by renowned photographers specialising in travel photography and photographic technique.
My beginnings in photography are related to documentary and travel photography. My photographic vision grew and became stronger in Africa, with trips to countries such as Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa, the Central African Republic, Namibia, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Congo, Egypt, Morocco, Djibouti, and Central Asian countries such as Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan, as well as Turkey and Iran.
Street photography has been a source of attraction in my work. My focus is on capturing aesthetic and surprising images resulting from the interaction between citizens and advertising images, as omnipresent elements in our streets that the subconscious citizen cannot avoid. The interaction between these two worlds produces surprising images that deserve to be captured by the eye of a curious photographer.
For several years now, my evolution as a photographer has centred on interpreting the city in a visually distinctive way. To do this, I start from a germinal idea that questions the limits of the reality that surrounds us and seeks to distance it from its creator, in order to shift the centre of artistic interest from the human beings who inhabit it to a vision of the
The city as an autonomous entity. In this context, the city not only renounces its ties to man, but ultimately displaces, bypasses and eclipses him. With this narrative, his photographic research aims to unmask its not-so-obvious beauty and exalt its inertia to blend in with the nature that surrounds it, cutting ties with its artificial human origins.
I have exhibited in exhibition centres and galleries in Madrid, Granada, Malaga, Murcia, Vienna, Alexandria, Cairo, Venice, Genoa, Paris, Chongqing, Los Angeles, Asunción,
