Dalia Morrigan is a Spanish visual artist whose practice is primarily developed through painting. Self-taught as a painter and initially trained in Fashion Design, she began her artistic career in 2009.
Her practice has evolved from an exploration of the female lineage, memory and transgenerational inheritance, incorporating ancestry as a field of research, towards an increasingly profound engagement with inner processes of transformation. From 2019 onwards, painting became a way of life, with oil on wood taking a central place in her practice. During this period, she progressively incorporated ritual and symbolism while developing a search for formal synthesis and a visual language capable of expressing inner states beyond narrative.
In 2023, this journey led to a new artistic stage with the emergence of Dalia Morrigan, a name that embodies a conscious transformation and a new way of understanding and developing her artistic practice. In her current work, the female figure encounters the symbol of the flower in the Flor-A series, where she explores processes of identity, opening, transformation and embodiment.
She has been awarded the Amalia Avia Women in Art Painting Prize (2024) and the Francisco Carretero Drawing Prize (2023). She was selected for the Certamen 60 – Premio Reina Sofía (2025), exhibited at Casa de Vacas (Madrid), as well as for the López Villaseñor Fine Arts Prize and the Gregorio Prieto Drawing Competition, with exhibitions at the López Villaseñor Museum, the Gregorio Prieto Museum and the Antonio López Museum.
Her practice investigates how identity transforms, is constructed, and finds new ways of becoming embodied.
