Danila Polyakov is a Russian artist and performer, who became known as the first male supermodel from Russia. Lives and works in Moscow (Russia). As a model, he has worked with David Bradshaw, Steven Meisel, Sam Taylor-Johnson and others. First turning to the graphic genre, and later to work with textiles and embroidery, the artist organizes his work around the idea of metamorphosis – the same idea lays in the core of the fashion industry, with which Danila works closely. Simple and complex, grotesque and disturbing at the same time, Polyakov’s works force the viewer to wade through the veil of finely constructed irony and words’ play, and to find out completely different, much deeper vision of the reality around us.
