Biografia
Daria Glebova is an artist and curator based in Bologna, Italy. She holds an MA in Art History from the European University at St. Petersburg and is completing an MA in Art Management at the University of Bologna. Her work has been shown in Private Photography: You Have Seen This Before in St. Petersburg and at the Bucharest Collage Biennale (2026).
She works with vernacular images: family slides, greeting cards, magazine pages, the colour plates of art books. These images are printed in millions and almost never called art. Glebova collects them, cuts them and reassembles them through installation, publication and collage. Her interest lies in the unwritten rules these images obey: who stands at the centre, who holds the flowers, who stays behind the camera. By placing images in sequence or moving a figure into a world where it no longer fits, she brings those rules back to the surface. Her recent collages focus on the question of the gaze. A recurring thread is a taste for the absurd: the moment when an intervention is so small and so wrong that the original can never be seen straight again.
