Johan Rosemberg is a filmmaker and visual artist whose work explores the relationships between matter, perception, and imagination. His practice exists at the intersection of experimentation, observation, and the sensitive forms of reality.

Through macrophotography and microscopy, he films chemical reactions and reveals phenomena usually invisible to the naked eye: movements of pigments, crystallizations, transformations of liquids, microscopic organisms, and organic dynamics. These images become landscapes, cosmic spaces, or abstract territories, blurring the scale between the infinitely small and the immense. Matter occupies a central place, both as a subject of study and as a source of narratives.

Alongside this, he develops a documentary practice focused on the human experience, attentive to life paths, identities, and intimate stories. He seeks to capture moments of truth that reveal a sensitive experience of the world.

His approach is rooted in experimentation. He uses the camera as a tool for observation, but also as a means to provoke visual accidents and allow matter to generate its own forms. Rather than illustrating an idea, he brings forth open images in which reality can shift toward the symbolic or the sacred.

Self-taught, and informed by studies in social sciences and the anthropology of religions, he situates his work within a reflection on myths, beliefs, and the contemporary ways in which meaning is constructed.
