Born in 1961 in Greiz, Germany (GDR). Studies of pharmaceutical engineering in Leipzig from 1980 to 1983. Since childhood, I have been exploring creative expression through clay, chalk, charcoal and poetry. In 2014, I began working in photography and the visual arts, using both digital and analogue photography and experimenting with old photographic techniques such as the camera obscura, cyanotype, lumen print, papyrography, collage and printing. In my work, I focus primarily on the mysteries of the body, the microstructures of nature and surfaces, geometric forms, mythological figures and archetypes, as well as the dynamics of intergenerational family ties. With my sense for the interplay between subject matter and materiality, I tell complex stories and try to challenge visual preconceptions in a subtle way
