Lukas Keysell’s practice is rooted in an intuitive and meditative process, through which he explores form, composition and visual storytelling using energetic lines, patterns and abstract structures. Inspired by ancient civilisations, early forms of image-making and shamanistic traditions, he explores shared cultural traces and spiritual experiences across time and place.

His process moves between spontaneity and immersion. Many of his recent works begin with meditation in a sensory deprivation tank, followed by intuitive sketching. These sketches are later developed into larger paintings using acrylic, sand and oil sticks on canvas. Strong and contrasting colours are drawn and blended together to create an energetic and powerful visual expression.

Lukas is a Danish-English artist based in Copenhagen with a background in graphic design. While painting is central to his practice, he works across media, including printmaking, sculpture, and immersive light and sound installations.
