Descrizione: Egglipse is about transformation and hidden identity. Just as the moon passes through phases — full, waning, hidden, returning — the egg is captured mid-transformation across a sequence of MRI slices, its yolk shifting and receding like a body moving through an eclipse.
The work scans both a raw and a boiled egg — two eggs that look identical from the outside, yet reveal subtly different internal structures once imaged. This is the heart of the piece: two things can appear the same on the surface while holding entirely different stories inside — different histories, different emotional states, different struggles, shaped by what they’ve been through even when it isn’t visible.
The work sits at the intersection of science and beauty: using an imaging technology built for medicine, not art, to uncover what’s hidden inside something as ordinary as an egg. It’s a reminder that beauty and meaning don’t require exotic subjects — they’re already inside the things we overlook every day, waiting for a different way of seeing to bring them out. Egglipse asks the viewer to look at food, at the body, at each other — not as fixed and known, but as something whose interior story is never fully visible from the outside.
