Njogu Kuria (b. 1992) is a Nairobi-based multimedia artist known for textural, mind-bending creations that push the boundaries of material and meaning. While he studied Project Planning and Management at Moi University, his early experiments into portrait commissions served as his gateway into the art world. Captivated by the "beauty and wild world" of art, Njogu began an obsessive period of experimentation. He moved beyond traditional painting, realizing that a single medium or technique, could not fully capture the complexity of an artistʼs thoughts and feelings. This led him to master "material language", learning the unique needs and textures of various materials and how to to blend them together into brilliant, multidimensional creations. Now a decade into his career, Njogu has held numerous solo and group exhibitions across Kenya, with his paintings and sculptures collected globally. He is currently further expanding his practice through a one-year artist residency in Rome, Italy.
