I am a Vietnamese-born, Munich-based painter working in figurative oil painting. I was an architect working as a façade specialist for nearly a decade. I left the building industry at the end of 2024 to focus fully on art. Since 2025 I’ve developed my practice in the class of Prof. Markus Lüpertz at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Kolbermoor. The works submitted here come from an ongoing series painted from Petra, a model I’ve worked with for two years — energetic, confident, unmistakably herself. There’s an ease in her I still have to work at — less about the body, more about not caring who’s watching.
