Ewa Mikiciuk is a Polish self-taught abstract artist whose practice explores the inner landscape and the subtle territory between the conscious and unconscious.
Drawn to painting from an early age, she began developing a more consistent artistic practice during the Covid period, when painting became a process of personal inquiry. Her work is informed by an interest in inner work, Jungian psychology, dreams and the symbolic language of the unconscious.
Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, Mikiciuk approaches painting as an exploratory process. Rather than beginning with a predetermined image, she responds to emerging forms and associations, allowing each work to develop its own internal logic. Organic structures, ambiguous figures and symbolic forms often surface through this process, occupying a space between abstraction and recognition.
At the center of her practice is an interest in transformation and transitional states — moments when familiar structures dissolve and something new begins to emerge. Her paintings explore these thresholds as psychological spaces, inviting the viewer to turn inward and encounter their own associations, memories and emotional responses.
Rather than offering fixed narratives or interpretations, Mikiciuk creates works that remain deliberately open-ended. She sees painting as a space for contemplation and discovery, where meaning is not defined but gradually revealed through the encounter between the artwork and the viewer.
