Julia Frank (b. 1988, Bolzano, Italy) is a visual artist, photographer, and writer based in Marling, South Tyrol. Working from her studio in Merano, she focuses on painting and drawing while exploring the connections between visual and written forms of expression.
Largely self-taught and continuously developing her practice through specialized studies and workshops, Frank combines artistic exploration with her background in academic philosophy. The human figure is central to her work, where figurative representation meets abstraction understood as a process of reduction that preserves essential meaning. Through painting, photography, and writing, she investigates perception, metamorphosis, identity, existence, relationships and the connection between visible form and inner experience.
