Ágnes Rikk spent more than twenty-five years working as a professional make-up artist. After receiving European and World Championship titles, she built an extensive career in fashion, film, and beauty. While her work was always centred on the human face and ideals of beauty, she gradually became more interested in what lies beneath the surface.

In 2021, she turned to fine art photography and has since developed a distinctive visual language that intentionally blurs the boundaries between photography and painting. Long exposures, movement, light, translucent layers, and textured surfaces are not used as visual effects but as metaphors for memory, time, vulnerability, and transformation.

Her practice focuses primarily on the female body, hands, faces, and flowers. She approaches a single flower in much the same way as she would a human portrait. Each bloom is treated as an individual presence, with its own character and emotional identity. Rather than documenting a botanical specimen, she creates a portrait.

She is particularly drawn to flowers in the process of fading and drying. Instead of seeing decay, she reveals a quiet transformation in which new textures, forms, and delicate details emerge. Her work suggests that beauty does not exist only in freshness or perfection. In a culture that often celebrates flawlessness, these fading flowers remind us that imperfection can also embody dignity, vulnerability, and enduring beauty.
