Descrizione: This illustration is part of the “The Oniric Realm Tarot,” a deck inspired by the concept of “Dreamlike Fantasy.” Inspired by fantastical dreams, “real” things blend with fantastical elements in an ephemeral and surreal way.

This illustration is inspired by Marina Abramović and Ulay’s 1980 performance “Rest Energy.” In it, they both held a taut bow together: he aimed an arrow directly at her heart. They both leaned back, maintaining their balance only through the weight of the other. For four minutes of absolute stillness, microphones captured their accelerated heartbeats.

Through this representation, the artist sought to symbolize that true love is an act of faith held on a tightrope, where one’s vulnerability is the other’s power, and where trust literally becomes a matter of life or death. In tarot, the lovers cards not only speaks about love, it also speaks about choice and connection. This piece represent the choice of being vulnerable with someone in order to trust them and deepen that connection.
