A reinterpretation of The Universe through the visual language of Persian miniature painting. Remaining faithful to the card’s traditional symbolism, the work reinterprets many of its familiar motifs, reflecting their shared presence in the Sphinx, the vision of the Prophet Ezekiel, and later Iranian-Islamic traditions. Its corresponding symbolic attribute accompanies each of the four living creatures. At the center, the dancing figure is enclosed within an oval form and may also be read as an allusion to Shiva’s cosmic dance, through which creation is continuously sustained. The flowing scarf, gradually shifting from red below to blue above, symbolizes the movement of yin and yang through the body’s energetic channels. The outer frame, inspired by Persian miniature painting, emphasizes the beauty and sacredness of crossing the threshold into the world.
