Descrizione: This work follows a pineapple through a sequence of MRI slices, moving from the barely-there shadow of its crown down through the dense, fibrous architecture of its flesh. Where the eye sees a single solid fruit, the scan reveals something closer to a living structure — radiating fibers, internal chambers, a hidden anatomy that has nothing to do with how the pineapple is normally seen: cut, served, eaten.
The sequence itself becomes the subject. Each slice shows the pineapple emerging a little more fully — first a faint outline barely visible in the dark, then the crown taking shape, then the full body of the fruit revealed in its internal detail. It mirrors how identity itself is rarely revealed all at once; it comes forward in stages, layer by layer, and what’s underneath is often more intricate than the surface ever suggests.
As with the rest of this series, the piece uses medical imaging — a tool built to look inside the human body — to look inside something as familiar as fruit, asking the viewer to slow down and really see an object usually consumed without a second thought. It continues the same throughline: that science can be a way of finding beauty, and that transformation and hidden identity exist everywhere, even inside the things we think we already know.
