Before an exhibit opening, Benyshek performed the ritual, Calling Down the Gods, to connect the audience with the art spirit. Using images from the ritual combined with art, the artist-shaman created a series of photo montages to provide the viewer with a glimpse of the experience, an invitation to enter into relationship with the art spirit. This work features the artist's painted doors from her house in the Cascade Mountains."}
