Descrizione: L’installazione si divide in due corpi.<\/span>
\n<\/span> Quello centrale \u00e8 costituito da tre elementi votivi. Un porta spilli e aghi, nella cui cruna di questi ultimi sono infilati dei capelli di vario colore. Uno stendardo famigliare costituito da una foto d’epoca sotto la quale compare la scritta NOI; da ciascuna lettera diparte una ciocca di capelli che si unisce alle altre formando una treccia.Una coda voodoo, un amuleto costituito da differenti ciocche legate fra di loro da un filo rosso e da uno spillo.<\/span>
\n<\/span> I corpi laterali invece sono composti da assemblaggi a tecnica mista su cartoncino; di fianco ad una foto d’epoca che ritrae una figura femminile in differenti fasce d’et\u00e0, un sintetico ritratto a matita, pastello e inchiostro focalizzato sui capelli.<\/span><\/p>\n

The installation is divided into two sections.<\/span>
\n<\/span> The central one consists of three votive elements: a pin and needle holder, with strands of hair of various colors threaded through the eyes of the needles; a family banner featuring a vintage photograph with the word “NOI” (We) beneath it a lock of hair extends from each letter, joining the others to form a braid; and a voodoo tail, an amulet made of various locks of hair bounded together by a red thread and a pin.<\/span>
\n<\/span> The side sections, meanwhile, consist of mixed-media assemblages on cardstock; alongside a vintage photograph depicting a female figure at different stages of life, there is a stylized portrait executed in pencil, pastel, and ink, that focuses specifically on the hair.<\/span><\/p>\n
