POLAROID — TIME EXPOSED è una open call internazionale dedicata agli artisti che utilizzano la fotografia istantanea come spazio di ricerca, memoria e sperimentazione.
Un’immagine Polaroid nasce in pochi istanti, ma trattiene molto più di un momento. Conserva attese, imperfezioni, tracce, trasformazioni e frammenti di realtà che il tempo rende unici. Time Exposed invita a riflettere proprio su questa relazione: il tempo come materia visibile, come presenza che affiora nell’immagine e ne modifica il significato.
La call accoglie opere capaci di esplorare la fotografia istantanea nelle sue possibilità poetiche e contemporanee, dal gesto intimo alla narrazione, dalla memoria personale all’osservazione del presente, dalla sperimentazione visiva alla trasformazione fisica dell’immagine.
Le opere selezionate entreranno a far parte di una mostra collettiva a Torino, creando un dialogo tra sguardi, sensibilità e pratiche provenienti da contesti differenti. All’interno dell’esposizione saranno inoltre presentate opere dell’artista Teo Iaia, in relazione con il tema e con i lavori selezionati attraverso la open call.
POLAROID — TIME EXPOSED è un invito a fermare il tempo, lasciarlo emergere sulla superficie dell’immagine e osservare ciò che rimane.
POLAROID — TIME EXPOSED is an international open call for artists who use instant photography as a space for research, memory, and experimentation.
A Polaroid image appears within moments, yet it holds much more than a single instant. It preserves waiting, imperfections, traces, transformations, and fragments of reality made unique by time. Time Exposed invites artists to explore this relationship: time as a visible material, as a presence emerging within the image and transforming its meaning.
The open call welcomes works that investigate the poetic and contemporary possibilities of instant photography, from intimate gestures to storytelling, from personal memory to observations of the present, from visual experimentation to the physical transformation of the photographic image.
The selected works will become part of a collective exhibition in Turin, creating a dialogue between different perspectives, sensitivities, and artistic practices. The exhibition will also feature works by artist Teo Iaia, presented in dialogue with the theme of the project and with the works selected through the open call.
POLAROID — TIME EXPOSED is an invitation to capture time, allow it to surface within the image, and observe what remains.
Chi può partecipare?
La call è aperta a:
- artisti emergenti e affermati;
- fotografi, visual artist, mixed media e autori che utilizzano la Polaroid come mezzo espressivo;
- collettivi artistici.
Non ci sono limiti di età o nazionalità.
Requisiti opere
Ogni artista può candidare fino a 5 opere, entro il 27 settembre 2026.
- Le opere devono essere realizzate su supporto Polaroid o istantaneo similare.
- Formato originale mantenuto, eventuali cornici o supporti saranno a cura dell’artista.
- Ogni opera deve essere accompagnata da un breve testo narrativo (max 500 battute) che racconti la storia dietro l’immagine.

- 79€ fino a 5 polaroid
La fee sarà da versare solo in caso di selezione e non in fase di candidatura.
Esposizione
Le opere selezionate saranno esposte dal 24 al 29 ottobre 2026 presso Con/Temporary Spaces a Torino, nel cuore della città

Who can participate?
The Open Call is open to:
- emerging and established artists;
- photographers, visual artists, mixed media artists, and creators who use Polaroid as an expressive medium;
- artistic collectives.
There are no age or nationality restrictions.
Artwork Requirements
Each artist may submit up to 5 artworks by September 27, 2026.
- Artworks must be created on Polaroid or a similar instant film format.
- The original format must be preserved; any frames or mounting supports are the responsibility of the artist.
- Each artwork must be accompanied by a short narrative text (max. 500 characters) telling the story behind the image.
Participation Fee
- €79 for up to 5 Polaroids
The fee will be payable only if selected, and not at the application stage.
Exhibition
Selected artworks will be exhibited from October 24 to 29, 2026, at Con/Temporary Spaces in Turin, in the heart of the city.
