The sculpture takes its inspiration from the inflorescence of Euphorbia, particularly the distinctive radial arrangement of its cyathia small floral structures that, when observed closely, resemble intricate architectural microforms. Rather than reproducing the plant itself, the work uses its biological geometry as a point of departure for the creation of an entirely new organism. The object does not represent an existing species. Instead, it imagines a life form suspended between botany and speculative biology a futuristic plant hybrid that could have evolved in a distant future or perhaps has always existed alongside us, hidden beyond ordinary perception. By enlarging delicate, almost microscopic structures to an unnatural scale, what is usually overlooked becomes an autonomous and unfamiliar presence, evoking something both organic and extraterrestrial. The sculpture is created entirely from thread using the technique of free-motion embroidery. A material traditionally associated with the flat surface of fabric is transformed into a self-supporting sculptural medium. Thousands of stitches construct a fragile yet complex organic architecture, where lightness and transparency contrast with the physical presence of the form.
This work belongs to a broader series devoted to speculative botany and alternative forms of life. It explores the possibility of ecosystems in which the boundaries between plant, organism, and alien entity no longer exist, inviting the viewer to imagine new biological realities that may one day inhabit our planet or perhaps already do.
