Conceived during a critical lung illness, Girl with Dog explores the precipice between vulnerability and survival. Through a surrealist and Dada-inspired lexicon, the work juxtaposes symbols of protection—the faithful dog—and persistent vitality—the march of ants—against raw anatomical memory. While confronting the isolation and fear of physical collapse, the composition’s luminous green accents ultimately transform a near-farewell into an enduring testament of hope and living breath.
