Held in Amber captures a moment suspended between memory and transformation. Rendered in warm, honeyed tones, the portrait suggests a Self preserved by experience yet continually evolving. A flower partially obscures the face, acting as both veil and lens, symbolising the ways identity is shaped by what we choose to remember, conceal, and reveal. The unwavering gaze speaks of resilience beneath stillness, while the amber palette evokes warmth, nostalgia, and the passage of time. Part of my Blooming, Becoming series, the work explores feminine identity as layered, cultivated, and always in the process of becoming rather than arriving.
