Descrizione: The work features a series of frogs caught in a state of apparent explosion, fragmented, mutating bodies that evoke a deep tension toward transformation. The frog, a symbol par excellence of metamorphosis and unstable identity, becomes an emblem of hybridity and perpetual becoming.
The piece explores the human drive toward modification and the transgression of biological and morphological boundaries. It suggests a body that disintegrates, loses its coherent form, and evolves into something else, an unstable, vulnerable, yet potentially generative entity.
The installation also references real-life experimental practices, such as genetic manipulation conducted on frogs and toads, where animals were decapitated to create headless organisms, ideal for meat production. This unsettling context informs the sculptural forms, in which the frogs’ heads appear to detach and drift away from their bodies, as if resisting a fate of control and commodification.
