Built in the 9th century near Yogyakarta, Prambanan is the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia, dedicated to Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma. Centuries of abandonment, earthquakes and collapse left much of the complex in pieces, even as its main temples have been reconstructed.The ruins take over the image. A place built to house gods and religious practice is reduced to piles of black stone. Where do the gods live now?
