Descrizione: Residual Gaze presents a fractured, mask-like face suspended in a field of visceral reds and bruised purples. One eye glows in opaque yellow while the other collapses into a dense, black void, creating a destabilizing asymmetry that suggests perception split between awareness and erasure. The surface is heavily worked – cracked, layered, and scarred – so the skin reads less as flesh and more as a weathered wall bearing traces of impact. Blue pigment bleeds from the mouth in downward drips, evoking silenced speech or emotional overflow. The red halo surrounding the head intensifies the psychological charge, as if the figure is trapped inside a residual afterimage – an imprint left behind by trauma, memory, or witness. The gaze does not confront; it lingers. It feels less like looking and more like being looked at after something has already happened.
