The figure confronts the viewer with hollow, circular eyes – voids rather than organs – dripping with a dense, black residue that reads as both decay and suppressed emotion. The mouth is violently sealed by a dark horizontal stroke, a gesture that feels imposed rather than chosen, while red paint bleeds downward like an internal rupture made visible. Acid greens and corroded yellows dominate the surface, evoking industrial erosion and psychological contamination. The background does not offer space or relief; it presses forward, enclosing the head in a suffocating atmosphere. Neon-like outlines flicker around the skull, suggesting instability, as if the identity of the subject were vibrating or disintegrating at the edges. “Sick” is not only a condition of the body but of perception. The work inhabits a threshold between physical illness and existential fracture – where silence, repression, and exposure collapse into one distorted presence.
