This series uses the cyanotype process to archive an object designed to vanish: birthday candles.
The work reflects on how we attempt to hold onto moments that are inherently fleeting. A birthday is both celebration and evidence of time passing.

By deliberately printing and stitching over something destined for the bin, Cove invites the viewer to consider whether transience is inherent in the object, or created by the way it is treated.

By elevating what is usually thrown away, the series asks where memory begins: at the moment something happens, or at the moment someone chooses to save it. If a moment is destined to pass, does care change what it becomes?
