A reinterpretation of The Hanged Man through the visual language of Persian miniature painting. Like the pause between inhalation and exhalation, or the silence between musical notes, the work portrays a moment of communion between the Higher Soul and the incarnated soul. A serpent replaces the rope, symbolizing both humanity’s descent into the material world and its spiritual ascent. At the same time, the blue arch—a traditional motif in Persian miniature painting—represents the celestial realm. The peacocks symbolize the Higher Soul; the hands below reach upward in longing for union, while the hands above descend in response, extending a helping hand.
