Descrizione: The Ritual’ depicts a sacrificial rite that takes place on the plane of a world laden with both human and non-human bodies alike. Part communion, part hieroglyph, the surface of the painting is layered with grain gel and thick, impasto wisps of modelling paste that overrun the boundaries of the canvas, giving a sense of materiality to the work that grounds it as a physical object in space.
