Valérie Fernandes Carreira Tecnica : Brushes and acrylic paint Anno : 2025 Dimensioni : 50 X 80 CM Descrizione : In this deeply symbolic canvas, I pay tribute to my late mother, a Leo woman — strong, courageous, and determined. The female figure, with her back to a mirror, is dressed in blue, the colour of introspection and serenity. In the reflection, however, we do not see her face, but that of a lion: majestic, intense, with a penetrating gaze and an imposing mane. This contrast between the visible and the reflected reveals the inner essence of the woman portrayed — and, by extension, of my mother. The work invites the viewer to contemplate the invisible power that inhabits every being: the strength that cannot be seen, but can be felt; the silent roar of memory and love that remains. More than a painting, Reflection of the Soul is a tribute to the presence that transcends absence. A celebration of feminine courage, emotional heritage, and the light that continues to shine even after departure.

Valérie Fernandes Carreira Tecnica : Brushes and acrylic paint Anno : 2025 Dimensioni :60 X 90 CM Descrizione : In this powerful and visceral composition, I pay a second tribute to my late mother, a Leo woman — a symbol of strength, courage, and determination. The canvas depicts a lion in full roar, with its mouth wide open and golden mane in motion, radiating energy and presence. In front of him, a woman with loose hair tilts her head back, her mouth half-open in a gesture of pain or song — as if both the lion and the woman shared the same cry. The black background intensifies the contrast and immerses the viewer in a space of mourning and transcendence. The lion's roar represents ancestral strength, the bravery that remains even after departure. The woman's cry embodies the pain of absence, but also the resilience of those who continue to live, guided by memory and love. The work is a dialogue between loss and power, between silence and expression. A tribute to the mother who has departed, but whose essence roars eternally within the artist's heart.
