Descrizione: Mas Que Nuestro Labor is based on the largest workplace immigration raid in Florida, U.S.A, where 200 men were kidnapped at a construction site. The artist uses zip ties because that’s how men were detained. The contrast of the American flag and chain link fence signify the irony of the “American Dream”. The written words are over 100 descriptive words outside of the men’s labor contributions to society. People should be treated with dignity despite their immigration status and career because they are humans. Freedom means not worrying if you’ll come home to your family.

The contrast of the grey and vivid embroidery highlight not only the absurdity to target people because of their nationality, but also the vibrance of the Mexican culture in such a dark place like detention. The artist uses the piercing of the embroidery needle to process the grief of women and men being targeted from her community.
