Rosalie Aynhorn Tecnica: mixed media on coffee stained linen and ruffled bed duvet Anno: 2026 Dimensione: 240cm x 125cm (foldable) Descrizione: I learned to accept my past as part of me. Moving on, healing, dealing with trauma I used to separate my life into different pieces. Everything that happened before and all that happened after. Abandoning and separating from this major part of me was the only way to get hold of the person I wanted to become, the things I wanted to be associated with and the story I wanted to tell. But now I am free of shame and the time capsule I tried to press my childhood and teenage years into – to burry and forget for a long time – is uncovered at the surface again. I accept my past and that comes with a lot of pain, sadness and anger. Accepting the past, forgiving yourself and understanding that everything that happened to you is not the essence of who you are but an explanation why things unfolded the way they did, gaining a deeper understanding for where you come from and the person you became. I am still a big puzzle full of missing and crooked pieces – the good the bad, the beautiful and the ugly. I consist of different parts that possibly will never completely fit together but finally I am okay with that. I deserve peace. xoxo
