Ghorbat è la distanza che continua ad abitare il corpo anche quando il viaggio è finito. È il sentimento di essere altrove, di riconoscere una casa che non c’è più, di portare con sé una lingua, un odore, un paesaggio, una voce che il presente non riesce completamente a contenere.

L’esilio non è soltanto uno spostamento geografico. Può essere una frattura intima, politica, affettiva. Si può essere esiliati da un Paese, da una famiglia, da una memoria, da una lingua, da un corpo, da una versione precedente di sé. Ghorbat vive in quello spazio sospeso in cui appartenenza e lontananza si confondono: quando il luogo da cui veniamo diventa ricordo e quello in cui arriviamo non è ancora casa.

Questa call invita artistə a confrontarsi con l’esperienza dello sradicamento, della nostalgia, della perdita e della trasformazione. Con ciò che accade quando si attraversa un confine, visibile o invisibile. Cosa resta di noi quando cambiano il paesaggio, le parole, le relazioni? Quali frammenti continuiamo a custodire? Quali identità nascono proprio dalla distanza?

Ghorbat può essere ferita, ma anche possibilità. Nel vuoto lasciato da ciò che è stato perduto possono emergere nuove forme di appartenenza, linguaggi ibridi, memorie reinventate, geografie personali. L’esilio diventa allora un territorio interiore: instabile, fertile, contraddittorio.

Cerchiamo opere capaci di abitare questa soglia. Opere che parlino di assenza e desiderio, memoria e migrazione, radici e trasformazione; che interroghino il significato di casa quando la casa non coincide più con un luogo.

Ghorbat è essere lontani.
E, allo stesso tempo, continuare a portare dentro di sé ciò da cui ci si è allontanati.

Ghorbat is the distance that continues to inhabit the body even after the journey has ended. It is the feeling of being elsewhere, of recognizing a home that no longer exists, of carrying with you a language, a scent, a landscape, a voice that the present cannot fully contain.

Exile is not merely a geographical displacement. It can be an intimate, political, or emotional rupture. One can be exiled from a country, a family, a memory, a language, a body, or a former version of oneself. Ghorbat exists in that suspended space where belonging and distance become blurred: when the place we come from becomes a memory and the place we arrive in is not yet home.

This open call invites artists to engage with the experience of uprooting, longing, loss, and transformation. With what happens when a visible or invisible border is crossed. What remains of us when landscapes, words, and relationships change? Which fragments do we continue to carry within us? Which identities are born precisely from distance?

Ghorbat can be a wound, but also a possibility. In the void left by what has been lost, new forms of belonging, hybrid languages, reinvented memories, and personal geographies can emerge. Exile thus becomes an inner territory: unstable, fertile, contradictory.

We are looking for works capable of inhabiting this threshold. Works that speak of absence and desire, memory and migration, roots and transformation; works that question the meaning of home when home no longer coincides with a place.

Ghorbat is being far away.
And, at the same time, continuing to carry within oneself that from which one has become distant.

Chi può partecipare?

La Call è aperta a tutti gli artisti di ogni disciplina che rispettino il tema.
Ogni artista potrà partecipare con un massimo di tre opere, le cui dimensioni dovranno rispettare le misure indicate. Le opere che eccedono queste misure non saranno prese in considerazione.

Come partecipare

Invia la tua candidatura compilando il form che segue entro il 30 settembre 2026.

Non dimenticare di includere:

• Una breve biografia (max 300 parole)
• Le immagini delle opere proposte (in bassa risoluzione; le immagini in alta risoluzione saranno richieste solo in caso di selezione)
• La descrizione di ciascuna opera

La fee di partecipazione è di 59 euro per 2 opere oppure 79 euro per 3 opere.
La quota sarà da versare solo in caso di selezione.

Modalità di partecipazione

Attenzione: nel form dovrai specificare con quale modalità desideri partecipare tra le seguenti:

1. Opere originali – Partecipazione con opere originali. L’artista spedisce le opere autonomamente o tramite il nostro servizio convenzionato con Mail Boxes Etc.

2. Repliche stampate formato 30×40 circa – L’artista ci invia il file digitale e noi ci occupiamo della stampa. In questo caso è previsto un plus di 19 euro per opera.

3. Repliche stampate formato 40×60 circa – L’artista ci invia il file digitale e noi ci occupiamo della stampa. In questo caso è previsto un plus di 29 euro per opera.

Le opere selezionate saranno esposte dal 19 al 24 ottobre 2026 presso ST Concept Store a Torino, nel cuore della città

Who can participate?

The Call is open to all artists working in any discipline, as long as their work relates to the theme.
Each artist may submit up to three artworks, which must respect the size requirements indicated. Works exceeding these dimensions will not be considered.

How to participate

• Images of the proposed works (low resolution; high-resolution images will be requested only if selected)

• A description of each work
