Branches emerging from the upper part of the canvas gradually invade the city’s depiction, evoking a post-apocalyptic scene. Meanwhile, the strong silhouettes of the buildings convey a sense of domination over the thin, almost transparent plants, raising the question of who invades whom. The city, trapped within a clearly defined rectangle, gives the impression of observing a worksite through a window cut into a concrete wall. Around it, the textures evoke an industrial aesthetic, reminiscent of rust on metal. While nature and the city seem to be in confrontation, the painting also invites the audience to feel contradictory emotions through its brutality and peacefulness. -

It is through this sense of isolation that the theme of loneliness takes on its full meaning in this series. Here, loneliness is not simply about being alone; there are two houses in the painting, after all. Instead, it reflects a cold closeness to one’s neighbor, rooted in the concept of property ownership, hence the title "Landlord", a house that is not yours. In contrast to the blurriness and softness of the landscape, abstract shapes are painted throughout, adding texture and brutality to the image. The fact that the landscape is confined within a rectangle could even symbolize well-defined living spaces, reinforcing the idea of property.
